Homework

All homework should be completed before next weekโ€™s first session unless otherwise noted

  • Meditate daily

  • Write down three commanding cues for each bolded pose in the Standing Sequence

  • Journaling: Asteya *looking ahead*
If we are living in fears and lies, our dissatisfaction with ourselves and our lives leads us to look outward, with a tendency to steal what is not rightfully ours.

Asteya is non-stealing, and it is important to note that โ€œstealingโ€ is a very broad term. We can steal from others, steal from the Earth, and steal from ourselves in many different ways.

The week of March 17th - March 23th, consider (and journal about) where in your life you might be  "stealing" from others and also from yourself. It might seem easier to identify examples of where others are "stealing" from you, and not quite as easy to reflect and see where your actions might not be in line with this principle.

Bonus - Be a โ€œvisitor.โ€ Notice how many things are available to you in life without the need for ownership. (Parks, libraries, radio, etc.)

  • Read pages 75 - 88 of The Yamas + Niyamas by Deborah Adele (through Brahamacharya) by March 20th

  • Start reading Atlas of the Heart by Brene Brown
