I didn’t want to just ‘deepen my practice,’ I wanted to better the relationship I had with myself and one of the most constructive ways I thought I could do that was by signing up for yoga teacher training. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love teaching, but if I’m being honest here, my journey to teaching came purely from a selfish place. In fact that’s something that I talk a lot about in my classes, the idea that being selfish is sometimes okay- necessary even. I’m a big believer in the Airplane Oxygen Mask Theory, that advises people to take care of themselves before they can take of others. Without sounding like I have a Kanye-sized ego, I’m naturally a “giver” who, after feeling depleted one too many times, was very good at making myself feel like crap. So like any boujee 20-something year old, I decided to spend a bunch of money on yoga teacher training to help me help myself. It was easily the best thing I’ve ever done for myself. I was fortunate enough to go through my training with some of the strongest and most badass women I know, whose friendships alone have truly and completely changed my life. I know (*eyeroll*), but it’s true.

If you’re feeling drained or like you’re lacking something, sometimes the answer isn’t always to give to others to then validate your existence. Sometimes the better choice is to give to yourself first, so that you can give to others- not out of obligation or requirement, but from an authentic and genuine place.

Take your time, do what you can, and bring a towel because you will sweat.

Hiking, anything outside, traveling, reading, watching old movies, wine, drinking wine and watching old movies, drinking wine and watching bad movies, anything and everything true-crime, going to concerts with my sister, also voting.

I’m a figure-it-out-as-I-go kinda gal, so I guess “to be determined” on this one. For the most part, I just try to prioritize my time and plan ahead as much as I can.

I’m much more confident in myself and can almost do 15 push-ups. We’re workin’ on 20, but ya know, celebrate the small stuff.

So my honest answer is Sansa, but after the way this last season ended, I can’t stand any of them. Probably Drogon the dragon. Mostly because he’s the only character who didn’t get on my nerves. Also because dragons are dope!
