Midtown Yoga will open its second Triangle-area yoga studio in early 2020. The new Midtown Yoga Durham studio will be in the new University Hill development. The nearly 3,000 square foot space will feature two heated studios and offer a variety of yoga classes, meditation, workshops, teacher trainings, retreats, event space opportunities and more.

The addition of the second studio space inside one location will not only enable us to hold more classes at peak times, but will also increase our ability to host more community building events during key times. The larger studio will focus on heated and hot classes while the second studio will be able to host heated classes but will also vary to room temperature to focus on specialized classes like strength, meditation, prenatal, private instruction and even parties. The University Hill location will feature the unique studio ambient lighting made popular at the North Hills location as well as luxurious restrooms including showers, a community space and a retail shop that carries the latest in yoga apparel, books, self-care items and more.

“We aim to provide classes for all walks of life – whether you’re a 500 hour certified yogi or you’re trying your first class – we want you to feel welcome and at home at Midtown Yoga. We teach and partner with the best yoga teachers in our community to invite in a diverse community while consistently providing an experience that shapes and challenges you both physically and mentally.”

—Emily Wallace, Midtown Yoga Cofounder and Operator

To help Midtown Yoga grow, we’ve added Christy Percival to our team as Director of Business Operations! Christy is an E-RYT 500 certified yoga instructor who has been teaching for over a decade in the Triangle area. She has traveled and trained extensively with Baron Baptiste. Christy left a long career in the legal industry to pursue yoga full time. She brings years of experience with one of the nation's largest yoga brands to her new role at Midtown Yoga. When Christy's not in the studio, you can find her living her best life in downtown Raleigh with her husband, Lynn, and their dog, Oliver.

“I love what Emily and her team have built and I am excited to play a small part in growing the MY Studio brand. I am thrilled to join a Raleigh-based yoga company focused on both the mind and body aspects of yoga. There is a strong commitment to both elements, which we believe stimulates the most personal and community growth.”
