"To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all."
—Oscar Wilde
Iye was introduced to yoga nearly 15 years ago, after a high school track practice when a teammate’s aunt led the team through a session to help them relax before the championship season. That moment sparked a long-lasting passion for yoga, which has since become a core part of her active lifestyle. Growing up, Iye played several sports, including basketball, volleyball, and track and field, eventually focusing on the discus throw in track. She went on to become a multi-title district, regional, and state champion in Virginia, before earning a spot on the throws team at North Carolina State University. After her collegiate athletic career, Iye remained committed to fitness. Unfortunately, in March 2023, Iye ruptured her Achilles tendon. Through physical therapy and her deep understanding of yoga and weight training, she rehabilitated herself back to peak condition. Iye has since completed her Strength Teacher training at Midtown Yoga and is eager to inspire others to transform both their minds and bodies through movement and strength.
