“The cosmos is within us. We are made of star stuff. We are a way for the universe to know itself."
—Carl Sagan
Chris McGrath grew up in North Carolina and attended UNC Chapel Hill. He discovered yoga during the pandemic, trying it at home for the first time as a way to stay in shape while gyms were closed. The asana practice had a profound impact on his mental, physical, and spiritual form and he has been a dedicated practitioner ever since. In 2022, he completed his 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training. He is passionate about bringing the transformative and healing practice yoga to others.
Chris’s teaching philosophy revolves around the concept of the Middle Way: finding equilibrium on the yoga mat as an analogy for finding balance in life. His Vinyasa classes typically offer opportunities for balances and inversions where students can find a supportive and exploratory space to try something new. When he’s not teaching, Chris enjoys skiing, motorcycles, chess, playing guitar, and building furniture.
