Take a journey through the different types of mediations and skills. This workshop will begin with foundational skills like breathwork, body scan and focused meditation, and end with deeper meditation practices. Discover how you can use this practice to become more present and mindful in your everyday life.
Dr. Christy Callahan has a PhD in Human Movement Science from UNC and has spent the last 5 years doing research on exercise and meditation - specifically how both can be used as a recovery tool after various sports and brain injuries. More recently, she has researched the impact of the the digital meditation tool Headspace on stress, sleep, and anxiety. She will pull knowledge from her meditation research, teaching, and practice to help inform the workshop.
